Erwin H Heinz

Erwin had three different careers during his life. First, he worked in insurance in Germany for ten years before moving to America. There, he quickly moved up the ranks in a big insurance company and later worked in human resources for a multinational company. After retiring from this, he and his wife Gabriele started a business selling home-building packages in New Mexico.

While living in the mountains, Erwin and Gabriele rescued over fifty homeless cats. Erwin also wrote children’s stories about these cats. He worked hard to improve his education in America, getting degrees in finance and economics with top honors.

Erwin became a U.S. citizen in 1965 and has always felt grateful for the opportunities America offers him. After sixty-two years of work, Erwin and Gabriele are enjoying their retirement in southern New Mexico with their eight cats. Their story inspires all who strive to overcome adversity and build a fulfilling life.
